Make sure headlines reflect the story. If the headline mentions professors, but professors aren’t quoted until the end, it’s a bad headline.<\/p>\n
Don’t use the word “and” in a headline, use commas instead, unless it’s a proper name.<\/p>\n
Only use single quotes in a headline.<\/p>\n
Make sure break out quotes have the person’s title, followed by their name.<\/p>\n
Make sure there are no oxford commas.<\/p>\n
Does this sound like someone’s opinion? If so, take it out.<\/p>\n
Make sure ledes aren’t boring (“This meeting happened” is a bad lede)<\/p>\n
